Verify before you visit, sign or pay

Confirm the exact location, the person you are meeting and whether they are authorised to show the property. Tell someone where you are going and avoid isolated meetings.

Never pay because someone creates urgency. Verify the recipient, use a traceable payment route and keep the agreement and receipt.

Use an independent Kenyan advocate and the appropriate official registries. Do not rely only on copies, screenshots or documents supplied by the seller.

Stop if the price is implausible, the location keeps changing, the contact refuses a viewing, or payment is demanded through an untraceable route.
